1. Introduction

Welcome to My Property Units (MPU).
My Property Units is a property management platform designed to help landlords and property managers organize and manage rental properties, units, tenants, rent payments, receipts, maintenance records, and other related property information from a single secure workspace.
Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, protect, and share your information when you use the MPU website, web application, mobile applications, and any related services (collectively referred to in this Privacy Policy as the Services).
By creating an account or using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.

2. Definitions

For the purposes of this Privacy Policy:
Services means the My Property Units (MPU) website, web application, mobile applications, and any related services provided by MPU.
Landlord means the primary account holder who owns or manages one or more rental properties using the Services.
Manager means a user invited by a landlord to assist in managing assigned properties. A manager's access is limited to the permissions granted by the landlord.
Personal Information means information that identifies, relates to, describes, or can reasonably be linked to an individual.

3. Scope of this Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to all users of My Property Units, including landlords, property owners, property managers, and other authorized users who access the Services through:
the MPU website;
the MPU web application;
the MPU Android application;
future MPU mobile applications for other platforms;
customer support and related services provided by MPU.
This Privacy Policy does not apply to third-party websites or services that may be linked from the Services.

4. Information We Collect

To provide the Services, MPU collects information that you provide directly to us together with limited technical information necessary to operate and secure the platform.

Tenant Information
The Services allow landlords and authorized managers to store tenant information, including:
Tenant name

Nationality
Identification document type
Identification document number (where entered)

Other tenancy records entered by authorized users
Landlords and managers are responsible for ensuring they have the legal authority to collect and manage tenant information.
MPU processes and stores this information solely for the purpose of providing the Services. Landlords remain responsible for the accuracy of information entered into the platform.
Payment and Financial Records
The Services may store records relating to rental payments, including:
Rent payment records
Payment amounts
Payment dates
Payment methods
Payment references
Receipt numbers
Outstanding balances
Security deposit records
Payment notes
MPU does not collect or store sensitive financial credentials such as banking passwords, mobile money PINs, payment card PINs, or payment card security codes. Where payments are processed through trusted third-party payment providers, those providers are responsible for securely processing payment credentials in accordance with their own privacy policies and applicable laws.
Maintenance Records
The Services may store maintenance requests, reported issues, maintenance status, assigned personnel, completion dates, notes, comments, and attachments where supported.
Technical Information
To operate and secure the Services, MPU uses essential technical information required for user authentication, maintaining secure sessions, protecting accounts, monitoring the reliability of the platform, and supporting the secure operation of the Services.
We do not intentionally collect more technical information than is reasonably necessary to provide and secure the Services.

5. How We Collect Information

We collect information when you:
Create an account.
Update your profile.
Add properties and units.
Register tenants.
Record payments.
Generate receipts.
Record maintenance activities.
Contact customer support.
Landlords and authorized managers may enter information required to manage rental properties.
Managers can only access the properties and functions assigned to them by the landlord. Landlords remain in control of manager permissions and may update or revoke those permissions at any time.

6. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:
Create and manage user accounts.
Authenticate users and protect accounts.
Manage properties, units, tenants, payments, receipts, and maintenance records.
Send password reset emails, verification emails, invitations, account notifications, and rent reminders.
Provide customer support.
Maintain, improve, and secure the Services.
Detect fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access.
Comply with applicable legal obligations.
We do not use your personal information for purposes unrelated to providing the Services without an appropriate legal basis.

We process and store this information solely for the purpose of providing and improving the Services.

MPU is intended for use by landlords, property owners, property managers, and other adults managing rental properties.
The Services are not directed toward children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children.
If we become aware that personal information has been collected directly from a child in a manner inconsistent with applicable law, we will take reasonable steps to delete that information.

17. Changes to this Privacy Policy

MPU may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the Services, legal requirements, or business practices.
